FOGSquad 2015-16 Season Primer: Midwest Question Mark Edition

In preparation for the upcoming 2015-16 season, FOGSquad will post a season primer of every NHL team every other day until the beginning of the season on October 7th. This is thus part thirteen of a thirty part series. We hope you enjoy!

Last season’s review
Well, the St. Louis Blues certainly played hockey. They took to the ice in their blue jerseys and stuff, and they shot the puck a lot, and they made saves a lot, and that's hockey. While the Blues managed to make it to the playoffs yet again, they were booted from the playoffs in a game six elimination game against the Minnesota Wild, which is... something, for sure.

This season’s preview
The Blues picked up Troy Brouwer and two other players in exchange for TJ Oshie during the off-season. I'm not sure if Troy Brouwer is a good player, but he's definitely a part of the Blues now. Was TJ Oshie a good hockey player? I'd like to believe so. I'm not really sure if that Troy Brouwer-TJ Oshie trade is going to pan out the way the Blues want, even if Phoenix Copley (that's a name?) and a the 2016 third-round pick turn out to be pretty good.

Almost everyone on the Blues roster looks like a neglectful dad now. I don't like this.

The official FOGSquad prediction
The Blues make it to the playoffs once again. The Blues are unable to make it past the second round once again. Maybe next time. Once again.

Players to watch
  • Vladimir Tarasenko. He’s so tiny! And talented. But mostly? Very tiny.
  • David Backes. Yeah, I know David Backes totally looks like a villain in every single photo of him. It's like he just finds the most villainous lighting in every picture. Or maybe villainous lighting just follows him everywhere? Anyways, have you seen his pets? He has so many of them. Love it.
  • Um, is there anyone else on the Blues? I don’t know. Just insert some player for the Blues here. I don't really pay attention to the Blues since they're from St. Louis. Forgive me for this, but I think you understand.

Thanks everyone for tuning in to our season primers. If you read these, I'm sorry to say that this will be the last season primer (probably). I know we planned on posting thirty (thirty!) of these, hopefully before the season began, but that won't be happening (probably). Thanks again for reading our drivel.
