FOGSquad 2015-16 Season Primer: Golden Oldies Edition

In preparation for the upcoming 2015-16 season, FOGSquad will post a season primer of every NHL team every other day until the beginning of the season on October 7th. This is thus part twelve of a thirty part series. We hope you enjoy!

Last season’s review
The New Jersey Devils haven't been relevant since approximately 2010, though they're certainly still around for reasons no one understands.

This season’s preview
Lou Lamoriello, the former President of Hockey Operations, jumped ship during the off-season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. That should probably tell you about as much on how the Devils' season will go.

The official FOGSquad prediction
The skeletal Devils rattle their way to the end of another subpar season. Maybe one day that witch they pissed off 30 years ago will forgive them, but hell hath no fury etc. It seems as though they're destined to stay on this godforsaken earth as decrepit crypt keepers, falling apart year by year until they can move no more, souls trapped in motionless bones swaddled in bright red jerseys.

Players to watch
  • Adam Henrique. Have you seen his face oh man
  • Scott Gomez. He’s making a comeback. He is. You just watch him.
  • Ryane Clowe. Actually, with any luck, you’re not gonna be able to see him during the 2015-16 season. That would be the healthy thing for him. The guy’s been through a lot, health-wise, and honestly? He deserves a break. Take care of yourself, Clowie. No I'm not still hung up about the fact that the Sharks traded him don't talk to me don't even look at me
