FOGSquad 2015-16 Season Primer: Red White And Hot Edition

In preparation for the upcoming 2015-16 season, FOGSquad will post a season primer of every NHL team every other day until the beginning of the season on October 7th. This is thus part nine of a thirty part series. We hope you enjoy!

Last season’s review
What a thrilling season for the Montreal Canadiens! They were the top seed in the Atlantic Division, and for good reason. Though the Canadiens managed to make it all the way to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they fell short in a six-game battle with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Despite this disappointing exit, Canadiens fans should remain optimistic about their future. After all, the Canadiens sure can play professional hockey, and that’s all that really matters!

This season’s preview
The Canadiens are more or less the same team that they were last season, especially with the re-signing of Alex Galchenyuk (be prepared for a big payout at the end of his current deal: this bridge is gonna get an upgrade!). As long as Carey Price remains uninjured, everything will be a-okay!

The official FOGSquad prediction
Carey Price, extremely bored and tired of the numerous people who arrive at Canadiens games wearing Native American headdresses and/or blackface, stands perfectly still in the crease for all home games. The Canadiens do not make it to the playoffs.

Players to watch
  • PK Subban. As if you could tear your eyes away from PK Subban’s beautiful, chiseled body.
  • Alex Galchenyuk. Oh my god, why is he so hot?
  • Carey Price. Why are all these people so hot this is entirely unfair
