Eleven Things Your Favorite Hockey Players Just Found In Their Locker On Locker Clean Out Day

For quite a few teams in the NHL, locker clean out day is probably the worst day of the season. It's the day you leave an unfulfilled season behind. It's the day that, for many players, equals a summer of worry about where they'll be for the next season. However, for all NHL players, locker clean out day is a day to find things you never thought you'd see again. We went behind the scenes and found several objects that your favorite hockey players found on clean out day.

1. Tomas Hertl: 12-13 Assorted Stuffed Animals
During his interview, Tomas Hertl reached behind him for a bottle of water, but his hand found a stuffed animal in the shape of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Hertl, who seemed somewhat surprised, unearthed stuffed animal after stuffed animal from around his stall. He had, apparently, named them all, though most of the press agreed that it was impossible to remember all of their names because Hertl had just been so dang cute during the entire ordeal.

2. Claude Giroux: A Slightly Scuffed Photo Of Danny Briere
Claude Giroux had no comment after unearthing a photo of Danny Briere, wearing a Buffalo Sabres jersey, from beneath his suit jacket.

3. Jamie Benn: A 4-Month Old Water Bottle Filled With Dip Spit
Four members of the press fainted after Jamie Benn unearthed a four-month old water bottle filled to the brim with dip spit from beneath a pile of assorted tape rolls. Benn laughed heartily, stepped over their unconscious bodies, and threw it away, where it immediately exploded in a stench so foul that the CDC was forced to quarantine the room.
It is currently uncertain whether or not the room will be cleaned in time for the start of the 2015-2016 season.

4. Joe Thornton: All Of His Fucks
Joe Thornton unearthed a mesh bag of his fucks from within an extra pair of gloves. "Oh, man, I was wondering where these went," Thornton said, in a complete monotone. He then dropped the bag on the ground and kicked it beneath his stall. "Woops, looks like I lost it again."
He proceeded to destroy Todd Mclellan in a way that left a member of the press weeping and begging for mercy.

5. Mike Richards: A Bag Of Unidentifiable White Powder
Mike Richards located a bag of unidentifiable white powder tucked into a toiletry bag, telling the press that the bag was filled with chalk dust for chalking up his hands prior to inserting them into his gloves. "Why would you need chalk dust? We're not gymnasts or baseball players or anything," Tyler Toffoli, his teammate, asked from across the room. Richards became visibly flustered and vacated the room with the bag, effectively ending the interview.

6. Zdemko Charda: A Small, Fluffy Stuffed Animal In The Shape Of A Bear
Zdemko Charda located the bear stuffed animal tucked into the shelf above his stall. "Oh, this belongs to my daughter," Charda said, as he carefully tucked the bear into his bag. "She gave this to me at the beginning of the season and told me that Mr. Fluffles would take care of me when she wasn't around. Yeah, I love my family. I'm really happy to spend some more time with them this summer. It's always a bummer when you can't make it to the post-season, but, you know. Sometimes it's the little things that really matter."
His statement, filled with so much love and affection, really rung true with many of the members of the press that were in the Bruins locker room. The gentleness with which he put the bear away reminds all of us that, in the grand scheme of things, hockey is just a game. Yes, it's a job, and yes, for many it's a lifestyle, but outside of hockey there are so many more things that are important. Three members of the press were later seen in empty hallways, calling their loved ones and telling them just how much they cared.

7. Brian Gionta: The Drive To Do Well This Year
Brian Gionta had no comment after he found this item, but he was spotted by a cameraman throwing this object into the trash shortly after the interview was conducted.

8. Taylor Hall: A Set of Golf Clubs
Taylor Hall was seen dragging a bag of golf clubs down the hallway on locker clean out day. "Yeah, I just found them behind my jockstrap, which is totally huge," Hall said during his interview. "It was super convenient since I'm headed to the range right now."

9. Tyler Seguin: His Dignity
"That's really cool," Seguin said when he found his dignity, curled underneath a small pile of Gatorade towels in the corner of his locker stall. He laughed after the interviewer asked him about it. "I'd forgotten that I brought it at the beginning of the season. It's great that I found out it was here!"

10. The Los Angeles Kings: Trashcans
This didn't take place on locker clean out day, but it was still a fun tidbit to learn as the season drew to a close. The Los Angeles Kings collectively found a large set of trashcans just prior to their game in Vancouver, and used it to keep head coach Darryl Sutter out of the locker room. "Usually Drew Doughty uses trash cans as a living space so we try not to touch them," Alec Martinez said in his post-game interview, "but we wanted to use them for a fun prank. Darryl literally cannot traverse a path that's been blocked by anything. He's kind of like a Sim in that way. One time we blocked his path to the bench with a bottle of Gatorade."

11. Jack Johnson: A Family
"No, I didn't just find a family on locker clean out day," Jack Johnson said with a smile. "I've always had a family in this locker room." Johnson left the locker room, laughing, with his fellow teammates.
